Travel Insurance Coverage Regarding to Typhoon Neoguri at Okinawa

ATTENTION: Typhoon Neoguri is approaching Okinawa (“Incident”), which was widely reported by media in Hong Kong on 7th July, 2014 (Cut-Off Time). MSIG therefore treats the Incident as a “KNOWN RISK” from 14:00 on July 7, 2014 (“Cut-Off Time”) onwards with regards to all subsequent purchases of any of our travel insurance plans.
Below please find our updated guidelines regarding MSIG travel insurance coverage for the Incident for your reference:
Under the Section of Trip Cancellation of your policy, you will be covered as follows:
✓ Trip Cancellation If you cancel your trip to Okinawa because of the Incident causing a delay of not less than 24-hour to your departure, you will be covered as stated in the policy;
✘ As the Incident had been widely reported by media in Hong Kong before the Cut-Off Time and the Incident has become known to the public in Hong Kong, any losses caused by the Incident will NOT be covered although you have successfully taken out the policy.
Travel Insurance Coverage Regarding to Vietnam Riot

ATTENTION: In view of the large scale riot in Vietnam (“Incident”) which was occurred in the evening of May 13, 2014, MSIG therefore treats the Incident as a “KNOWN RISK” from 00:00 (hour:minute) on May 14, 2014 (“Cut-Off Time”) onwards with regards to all subsequent purchases of any of our travel insurance plans.
Below please find our updated guidelines regarding MSIG travel insurance coverage for the Incident for your reference:
Under the Section of Trip Cancellation and Curtailment of your policy, you will be covered as follows:
✓ Trip Cancellation If you cancel your trip to Vietnam because of the Incident, you will be covered as stated in the policy;
✓ Trip Curtailment If you abandon your trip in Vietnam because of the “Incident” and return to Hong Kong before the scheduled return date, you will be covered as stated in the policy;
✘ As the Incident had been occurred in the evening of May 13, 2014 and treated as a “KNOWN RISK” from Cut-Off Time, any losses caused by the Incident will NOT be covered although you have successfully taken out the policy.
