FRIENDLY REMINDER: MSIG Travel Insurance Coverage Regarding to Bangkok bomb blast Incident

ATTENTION: The Hong Kong Security Bureau issued a RED Outbound Travel Alert (OTA) for Bangkok, Thailand on 18 August 2015 at 11:08am (“Cut-Off Time”) in light of Bangkok bomb blast near Erawan Shrine. THE HONG KONG GOVERNMENT ADVISES RESIDENTS TO AVOID ALL NON-ESSENTIAL TRAVELS TO BANGKOK. (Please click here for more details). In view of the severe bombing in Bangkok, MSIG therefore treats the Incident as a “KNOWN RISK” from the Cut-Off Time onwards with regards to all subsequent purchases of any of our travel insurance plans.
Furthermore, MSIG extends the “Extra Benefit of Trip Cancellation and Curtailment” cover to Red OTA in such a way that the related coverage will be provided as described below:
✓ Trip Cancellation and Curtailment
If you cancel your trip to Bangkok because of the Incident, you will be covered for cancellation of any trip to Bangkok departing Hong Kong on or before 31st August 2015.

✘ As the Incident has been widely reported by media in Hong Kong and international news media since the Cut-Off time and the Incident has become known to the public in Hong Kong, any losses caused by the Incident will NOT be covered even though you have successfully taken out the policy.
